We saw it today ...

If you have, what are your thoughts about it?

TexasOma (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

What did you think about it?

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

I'm not sure ...

If the little boy (who was only 4 years old at the time) actually went to heaven and saw, and heard, what he says he did, it's mind boggling.

Shortly after my Dad passed away in August of 2011, my wife bought me the book. I haven't read it, but I will now.

I saw it, thought it was great. Kind of hard to imagine a 4 yr old making up that kind of story. And to say things that he wouldn't otherwise know...

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

^^^ That's the mind boggling part ^^^

MonzaRacer (Admin) --- 8 years ago -

The one that really got me, was when he asked his mother about his other sister...

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

That, too, and the painting of Jesus's face by the little girl from Lithuania.

I haven't seen the movie, but I have heard of it and countless other "out of body" experiences.

Deep down, these sorts of stories being broadcast to the World as truth really and truly bothers me.

What is written in the Bible is all we need. It is sufficient. Anything more, in my view, is essentially adding to the Bible, which the Bible states is strictly forbidden.

I feel that most of the story tellers have good intentions, but the repercussions can be enormous. What happens when one of these stories is taken as truth, but it is found to be false? What will that do to the faith of believers who believed that story, or to people on the verge who then decide that Christianity cannot be trusted.

Of course, I think it is reasonable to say that these experiences are sometimes possible, and I don't know whether or not the boy in the movie really did go to Heaven or not, but if he really did, it probably wasn't meant to be shared with the Nation as it being a leading reason to believe in Christ because the boy has "proof" Heaven exists.

Basically, I think the most important thing that a Christian can do when facing these claims is to first look at how Heaven is described to us in the Bible. Anything counter to that should be immediately dismissed.

Anyone who is interested, check out The Glory of Heaven by John MacArthur. He speaks specifically about these types of claims and what the Bible states about Heaven. It is a very interesting read.

What does this tell you?

But, as it is written, ?What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him? - Corinthians 2:9

Would God lie to us in the Bible? He states that NO one has seen what God prepares for His children in Heaven. That right there says enough.

No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. - John 3:13 ESV

...it speaks for itself.

I've seen a lot of stuff with my eyes that can't be explained.

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

I think if you have experienced this it is ok to tell others.

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

^^^ I agree ^^^

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

Smoochie, I completely understand what you are saying and there are many other's who believe exactly what you've said, however; this is a very bizarre story.

JohnLynch --- 8 years ago -

actually smoochie...you have taken 1 Corinthians 2:9 out of context...verse 10 says "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit"...

which leads into John 3:13...the Spirit can show us heaven without violating that Scripture passage...and without God lying...because Jesus ascended into heaven with His body...when we go to heaven...our bodies don't make the trip...

the Spirit can take anyone to heaven and back again because the body doesn't go with...as in the movie...the boy's body was still in the hospital...

it's also possible that the boy was just given a vision...

i haven't read John MacArthur's book...but i'll try and find a copy...i have read several things that he has said that gives me pause...

I see your point, and while I agree this is possible that this may have happened, it worries me that it has been made into a movie for all to see.

It makes me uneasy because this movie is not coming from the word of God, but it is intended to "prove" the word of God to be true.
