How do you explain what a soul is to preschoolers? 

Hummmmm....difficult question. How do you explain it to an adult?

To me, my soul is my inside thinking, the conscience that guides me, but how would a preschool understand that. Maybe tell them that the soul is part of the heart that helps you make good choices.

Let me know how you do it...interesting question. 

So far all I've come up with really is that the soul is what holds all your love for others. I have to add in the part about making good choices. I haven't even answered the question yet because I want to do something other than stutter lol.

This is such a hard thing to explain at an age when literal is all they understand. 

That's a big deep question! But I do like what you're saying so far and where it's headed... 

Have you googled 'what is soul?' There may be some discussions out there where you can garner words that would be appropriate for a child. Just remember -- keep it simple, very simple for a little one, as they get older the explanation can fit their age at that time. 

The body is a human's computer.

The soul is a human's software.

Both can have good aspects and flaws. 

She has brought this up every day since I posted this lol. Thankfully she seems to grasp more and more of it every day. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have used bits and pieces of them every day.
