Does anybody have one they really love? I've found a couple online that look pretty good but I thought I'd ask you guys first.

I'm in the mood to make some, I think I feel the crud trying to kick in and I'd like to have some handy......just in case.

I was hoping to make some, the DD has been pretty darn sick for a week and is finally getting her appetite back. Now I'm feeling just a little icky, don't know if it's sinuses or I'm coming down with her crud.

I guess I'll have to fly by the seat of my pants on this one. I'll report back how it came out, I'm heading to the store now......see ya!!!

So how did your soup turn out?

I gave the smartass answer because I don't have a recipe other than go to a good Mexican restaurant and order it to go. Tastes better if it's eaten in the restaurant, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

So, how did your soup come out and if it was good, you wanna share the recipe you used? Pretty Please!!!!! 

I bought all if the stuff to make it but while I was in the store I started breaking out in a sweat, full on chills and kind of foggy in the head. I got home, put the stuff away and went to bed for a couple of hours. Needless to say I didn't make it tonight.

Throat is sore, I ache and feel like dog poop. I took some DayQuil, that helped a little. I'm going to try to make it tomorrow......fingers crossed. If it's good, I will be happy to share the recipe with ya.

Hope you feel better, soon! I hate to tell everyone they're wrong, but Chuy's has the best chicken tortilla soup by far! 

Froggie --- get yourself to the MD or to a clinic tomorrow morning. I am betting you have the flu and if you can get the Tamiflu started during the first 36 hours, it lessens the flu and speeds recovery.

And, I think you caught the flu from reading FabFive's posts - I think she was spreading her case of the flu in all her posts......I wear flu resistant sunglasses while reading the internet!!!!

Blue - I am not a Chuy's fan. Only thing I like there is the green dip. Never had their tortilla soup because I rarely go to the restaurant. 

Oma, I had a flu shot so I'm betting that's not it. So did my DD...she tested negative for the flu and negative for strep. Today is one week for her and she is finally starting to be human again. The cough is still an issue for her though.

My DH told me the same thing......"get to the doctor tomorrow", so I guess I will. This has come on pretty fast and aggressive. I feel much worse than I did this morning.

You just wait till I see Fab.....spreading her internet germs everywhere, imma get her good!!!

Froggie, listen to me: That is exactly how mine started. Flu or not, the Tamiflu worked.

I never coughed or had a runny nose.

Please go to the Dr because the day I went was the only day I could go. After that I honestly felt like the only way they were dragging me out was by am glance because I couldn't walk well enough to even get to the car.

When I say I thought I was dying it is not a figure of speech. I've had the flu, mono, pneumonia, bronchitis, chronic back pain and natural child birth. Nothing compared to that. The thought of you suffering that way makes me very worried. Please make them see you and tell your Dr that if you test negative you still want an RX because I swear it works. Withing 4-6 hours I knew I was going to make it. There was no placebo that could pull me from deaths doorstep like that. 

I'm going tomorrow if I can get an appointment, .....this sucks!!! I'm taking DayQuill every 4 hours and Advil every 4 hours....staggered by 2 hours. Lord....take me now!

So it's just the "damn crud" - not the flu. Well, I'm blaming it on FF anyway....she spread the crud via her typing on the keyboard.


Froggie -- even if you can't get an appointment - tell them you want them to call you in a script for the tamiflu. There is a time window for when it will work and limit the virus effect. Tamiflu is an anti-viral and it should work on whatever the virus is that's causing this. So be persistent, don't take no for an answer. And if they still won't give you the tamiflu - go to the Walgreens clinic or HEB or CVS and see what you can get done there.

Now, when you get off tonight, wipe the keyboard and screen so none of FF's germs will leach through and get you again. I'm wearing gloves and still have my flu resistant sunglasses on to keep her germs out. Actually, I went and put on a full infectious disease garb like I use to wear in the hospital. I saw that FF was typing and I got skeer'd.

Now, I'm off to bed - I have a very early patient tomorrow to do a lab draw. :-( I hate getting up at the crack of dawn.
