They can not raise the debt limit with just promises that the dems will cut spending. The pubs have to get laws passed to make it really happen before they raise the debt limit. We all know how the dems lie.

You're right, we all know how Obama promises but never delivers. He is nothing but a liar and you can't trust the senate either.

The dems have made idle promises in the past and when they got their way they said 'NEVER MIND'. Hopefully the Republicans remember the past and they stick to their guns, but I seriously doubt it....I bet they cave.

They can cut the budget by laying off all these "non essential" employees that aren't working during this shut down. Not like they are needed anyways we are running just fine.

But if they dont raise the debt and we go further past the deadline we will ALL be loosing money! And again the USA will loose its credit standing further! 

It is nothing short of treasonous to raise the debt ceiling. No other way around this.

We can pay our debts without raising the debt ceiling. Obamacare will have to be defunded, and other cuts will have to be made. But this cannot happen. 

Boehner and other Republicans are suppose to meet at the White House today.....bet they cave. Boehner is not a strong speaker,I just don't see him standing strong. I remember those alligator tears a few years ago. I just don't have faith that he will stand firm. 

The white house wants a short term debt ceiling increase. Why? They say it's so they can continue trying to work out a deal. What would a short term deal have to do with anything. Either the congress is going to work out a deal or not.
