What can be used to get rid of them??? 

Diatomaceous Earth (DE)

You could put out beer in jar lids and they will drown or you could salt them as you see them, but that's a lot of trouble. I would use the DE. 

DE is real fine...as you spread it make sure not to inhale it. Otherwise it is good for internal use even in pets...most importantly it has to be FOOD GRADE...and that is what they sell at the feed store 

also simple table salt. 

I tried some vinger and man did that get gross. They went to slimming all over the place and then they were dead. The only bad thing is that you have to stay and wait for them. 

Be careful of scattering salt or vinegar around - both will kill any plants they come in contact with.

An easy way is to put beer into a shallow saucer or bowl, even a jar lid - needs to have a upturn so they have to struggle to get out - fill the thing 1/2 full and put it where you see the slugs working. Best to put the dish up under a shrub and in the shady part of the yard - they love shade. Do this at night and you should have some drunk dead slugs with no effort. 

Ok thank you TexasOma. I was also checking on UTube and they said that you can put coffee grounds around the plants and the slugs will not mess with it. Thanks everyone. 

Never heard of that one. I put coffee grounds around my azalea bushes all the time - it improves the blooms in the springtime. 

This flat works. Get a squirt bottle, put in bleach. Set it for the long squirt not spray. It kills those nasty basturds on contact. Of all the thing the Good Lord created, SLUGS, I cannot understand. BTW they have no natural predators with the exception of a GOOSE> so you can get your self a pet goose as well! ;)
