Ok, so my car has been acting up for the past couple of months...I hate the idea of a car payment so I've been trying to ignore it. This morning I was taking DH to the airport and stopped for gas, I thought it wasn't going to start, ugh!! It finally did and then the electricals were all messed up, no digital readings...showing empty gas when in fact it was just filled.

Long story short, I'm trading my 6 year old Mercedes in and going to buy a new car tomorrow. Wish me luck that it behaves itself during the trade in part!

OY!!!

Good luck! I hate car payments haven't had one in 7 years now!

TexasOma (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

uh --- did you take it to the mechanic to see what's wrong? It could be that it's an easy fix for less than a new car.

My truck was acting up and I took it to the Shell station on NP & WLH, this was last week. My fix cost us $160.00 and now it works just fine.

Our truck is 10 years old this summer and no payments. I told DH that if we had to pay even $2,000 to make it 'new' again, it would be worth it to not have payments. I despise payments. When he is ready to retire in a few years, I want everything totally paid off.

If you get a new car - make it a beauty, suitable for and old lady to ride in!!! I only ride in style. :-)

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

Oma....it could be many things. I know I need new brakes $2,000 and service in May, another $1,000 on top of what ever is wrong this time. It just makes sense to get out of it. I'm going tomorrow morning to see what I can find....ugh!

TexasOma (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

Well, you better make it a fantastic ride for the old Oma!!! :-)

I hate car shopping almost as much as I hate regular shopping. I let DH do all the shopping & negotiating stuff and I get to claim it as mine.

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

Opposite here...I'm the shopper, DH would pay whatever they asked. NOT!!

Actually DH is out of town and may return to a new car tomorrow.....surprise!! Actually he knows I'm going shopping tomorrow and will probably pick him up with a new ride. He's so cool thar way!

Now I just need my car to behave during the trade in process

Problem solved, I'm the proud owner of a brand new cute little Mini Cooper S Coupe, cutest zippy little 2 seater...I love it!!

Hey Oma, I know it's not blue but care to take a spin with me......if ya can stand it???

TexasOma (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

I've seen it and even through its not blue, it's so cute.

Yes, I would take a son in it with you...May have to close my eyes the whole trip but I do they with DH anyway.

FabFive --- 8 years ago -

Love the new car Froggie. You'll have to bring it out to see puppies :)

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

That's a nice little car, Froggie.

There probably aren't many blue Mini Cooper S Coupe's running around Kingwood, or Mills Branch, so it shouldn't be too difficult spotting you as you're cruising around.

If a gray haired guy in a white Mazda honks and waves at you, be sure to wave back!

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

Pepper, it's not blue, that's what Oma wanted...LOL. It's called Pepper white and has black stripes on the hood.

Honk away...I'll wave back at 'cha!!

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

Okay, I thought you were pulling my leg about the color "Pepper White", so I Googled it and low and behold there actually is a color called Pepper White!

Happy motoring and be on the lookout for that "Pepper White" Mazda that's apt to honk at you :)

TexasOma (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

So now Froggie lives Property more than she loves Oma?

Fine, be that way! humpft

Now Oma is blue!

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

Oh Oma.....you know I love ya gurl!!!

DH and I were gone all day...we went to our CHL class...both passed with flying colors...yay!!!

Pepper...I'm going to be listening for a "honk"...don't forget me!!

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

^^^ I'll be keeping an eye out for ya' Froggie ^^^

Where did you guys take your CHL class? I took mine at Carter's Country a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

Froggie, you might enjoy this website now that you've taken the first step to getting your CHL.

I hope the link works, I never did get the hang of posting links.

Texas CHL

Edited to add ... it worked!

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

We went to Sportsman in Humble. Of course the DH found another "toy" he had to have while we were there.....go figure.

It was fun, entertaining and enlightening. Glad we went after a long time talking about it. Turns out I'm a darn good marksman, I'm kinda proud of that!

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

I go shooting there, too. I like the indoor range and have bought a couple of "toys" there, too.

Their prices are usually below everyone esle.

Pepper --- 8 years ago -

If you go to "The Waiting Room" under the General topic, you'll get an idea how long it's taking others to get their "Plastic"

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

The DH bought the newest Glock .380, we took it to their range after class and played...I really like it! I have a Sig .380 and like that but this is lighter and really fun to shoot.

We still have to get fingerprinted, etc. but at least the ball is rolling.

Those are nice.

My EDC (Every Day Carry) is a Ruger LC9, but I also have a Beretta PX4 Sub Compact.

Froggie --- 8 years ago -

I'm sure that means something to someone...LOL

I'm a novice when it comes to firearms, BUT, I'm comfortable with what I have.

DH wants me or take private lessons from them so that I get super comfortable with what I have and how or use it. Not a bad idea I think.
