Hope it was worth Prison for that TV!

 

This happens every year since they started this Black Friday Sale. Back in the 80's when I went to Toys R Us for a Cabbage Patch Doll for our daughter, people were fighting in the aisles. Back then we didn't camp out or anything stupid like that, but we did try to get there about 30 minutes before the store opened, sat in our vehicles and when the doors opens we walked ( NOT RAN) in and got what we wanted. When the Cabbage Patch Dolls became so popular, the idiots in the SE Houston area would rush the store and get into fist fights.

I lucked out the time I bought hers (I got her 2 which was the limit). As everyone was running to the dolls section the employees were bringing a dolly past me with more dolls. I grabbed 2 of them from the cart and scurried my butt out of that store. I had already seen the pushing and shoving and didn't want to be a part of anything more.

The stupidity has only escalated since that time. A year or 2 ago someone was trampled in the mad rush to same a buck, today on TV I saw a young man pushing his way to the front of the line and people were trying to stop him......shame the guards didn't send him back to the back where he belonged.

Eventually some store will get their azzes sued for big money and they will start re-thinking this. IMO they encourage the lunacy. There is nothing in the stores that I need, absolutely need, so I will never ever go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving or day after Christmas (the other day of madness). 

worse part, is that almost everything including this tv and others are available online. Plus with free shipping. I think its hilarious though, they are going to feel really stupid coming Cyber Monday when all the sales are cheaper then black friday, just as they are every year. Not to mention right now newegg.com has some tvs that are 100x better brands for about the same price.

And I remember those gabbage patch kids, I so wanted one, but dad never could find one :( 

and that was actually 1978! I was only 11 then, was same year my dad had his first massive heart attack and we didn't have enough money for christmas.. Dad was in the hospital anyways 

I dont frequent this site BUT they have said it perfectly! I say we all boycott Black Friday! 

AngieKaye Cabbage Patch dolls didn't come out till 1983, the commercials on all the time saying they are 30 yrs old. I keep messing with my niece who will turn 30 on Christmas eve, that she was born alongside Cabbage Patch Kids... 

I told that idiot that I grabbed the stuff first!
