It's that time of the year again. Kingwood fit gets people ready for a full or half marathon by the end of the year.

Plus, if you sign up for the half, you might get coached by the prettiest and smartest person in the USA!!!!!

Below are the basics of the program:

Kingwood Fit

Kingwood Fit is a training program for walkers and runners designed with the goal to complete a half or full marathon by January 2014. Not interested in completing a marathon? Come anyway! Participants have various goals in mind ranging from getting into shape to running or walking a half or full marathon. You will have fun and meet other people to exercise with that will motivate you to accomplish your fitness goals.

What does the program include?

· Easy to follow training method for all ability groups

· Seminar topics at most of our weekly training runs

· Knowledgeable and supportive coaches

· Discounts at local retailers

· Giveaway raffles throughout the season

· Member T-shirts

· An online discussion forum to stay in touch and get help during the week

The 2013 season will begin with sign ups and orientation at 7:00 am on Saturday, July 6th or Saturday, July 13th at Christ the King Lutheran at 3803 Lake Houston Parkway in Kingwood. Come prepared to complete a 2 to 3 mile placement run. Participants can also register online at http://www.kingwoodfit.com

i would drop dead of a heat stroke... I haven't exercised in 20+ years :)
I will throw in my support for anyone that is athletic enough to endure this race. Are they taking pledges? Or need supporters?

So, you were only 9 last time you exercised...

LOL yep thats right! (wishful thinking)

Not a pledge site and most of the runners/walkers are women, therefore not requiring supporters. (:-)

No sports bra either. Wow that might get a little nasty. Lol. Jk

Seriously, this program works for walkers with a 15 to 20 minute pace or runners with a 6 minute pace. The coaching, weekly exercise guides, gradual distance hikes and a wealth of information to keep you on track are well worth the investment and commitment.

I have seen new exercisers start in the 15 minute pace walker group and progress to the 8 minute group by the end of the year!

bump

Which reminds me- if you have too many bumps, join now! (:-)

OK everyone- be sure to pick up an informational brochure and a candy bar at the 4th of July parade (in Kingwood).
